"Everything must be kept" is an exploration of the compulsion to capture, to keep as much as possible: objects, moments, people, memories, places. A compulsion which seems to stem from an obsessive fear and anxiety, of losing, forgetting, of change. Of course, to archive and record events and history is important, but when does this become unhealthy? Useless? When does a collection become a hoard? The theme of preservation is also carried through the utilisation of print, especially letterpress, as techniques that are in various stages of dying out. This exhibition is interactive, inviting viewers to look through everything as much as possible and consider their perceived worth of objects; what they deem worthy of keeping and why.
